July 2018 sees the publication of the new National Planning Policy Framework (NPPF) replacing the NPPF of 2012. The expanded NPPF now extends to 73 pages and contains National Government’s policies for planning and development across England. One of the many notable changes includes paragraph 68 in relation to the identification of land for homes, which acknowledges the important contribution small and medium sized sites can make to meeting the housing requirement of an area.
